The Pocket PC WiFi gamer market has its small share of goodies, but the Nintendo DS crowd may be largely responsible for the latest news.TechNewsWorld has reported that the WiFi market will increase to the tune of some $3 billion during the next three years.
With Nintendo DS WiFi game aficionados sucking the life out of our wireless access points, I have no doubt that they are largely attributed to these grandiose predictions.
Especially not with news of free McDonald's WiFi access for Nintendo DS users, much to the envy of the Pocket PC WiFi gamer crowd.
In fact, the same article attributes "emerging WiFi applications such as wireless game consoles [and] PDAs" for this upward trend.
Small wonder since 1up.com announced 21 million Nintendo DS sales by July, making Mario chortle with glee as Nintendo DS Lite profits skyrocket.
This news would of course raise some eyebrows and prompt some excited analyst chatter.
The Pocket PC wireless game market still a relatively sparse one, with glimmers of good news.
We still have some mixed offerings, like some engaging real-time strategy in my Pocket PC WiFi multiplayer Warfare Incorporated review or some suspiciously Tetris-like action in FightCube for Windows Mobile with WiFi GPRS support.
At the time of this article download numbers were low for the latter-- looks like no one is really taking the bait.
The most recent entry into the Pocket PC WiFI game arena was Fast Sudoku - The game of centuries v1.2 by PPCLink.
This title is making inroads by being the first Sudoku download to support wireless multiplayer play.
Maybe these recent developments bode well for our PDA wireless gaming future.
