Bowling game action has somehow found its way to our PDAs time and time again, but Ultimate Bowling Fighter for Pocket PC puts its own strange but vastly entertaining spin on this.Newly released for Pocket PC 2002 or later by the reputable Astraware, they further push the envelope with racy animations that you can disable in-game if you're multiplaying against the kids.
I found the lane, pins and animation surprisingly sharp. The audio is also truly reminiscent of my local bowling alley. You'll find the frames comprising of the pins being struck are extremely detailed.
This particular Pocket PC bowling game controls offer Gauge and Stylus mode, with the former involving a moving gauge for accuracy and spin, and the latter allowing you to trace a path from the bowler's feet to the pins.
I was relegated to the bowler Ryo as the only character available for the trial, and the lane venues are capped for USA and Japan.
This particular download kept me indoors and away from potentially embarrassing real-life bowling scenarios, but I've got to hand it to them; it kept me occupied for quite some time.
